A new family locum vacancy has arisen with a solicitors firm in Malvern, Worcestershire. Nine month placement requirement for a family locum solicitor beginning in August 2018. The firm holds a legal aid contract in family law and the locum will already qualify as a contract supervisor. Having said that, the majority of casework is privately funded but it remains an important requirement.

The firm have set their rates – annual salary equivalent £35,000 so £26,250 for the nine month term. The employment status would remain as a contractor to the firm rather than an employee and the individual would be responsible for their own tax liabilities, practising certificate renewals and training and development needs. The firm also holds a lexcel certificate. A full time experienced secretary/PA supports this role and the use of IT is a core part of how we progress matters for our clients.

Not sure whether they will manage to get someone in on this basis – equates to about £21 per hour, although the hours are full time and guaranteed..
