A new vacancy has arisen with a higher education establishment based in the Manchester area. The In House legal team seek a locum litigation lawyer to assist with a caseload for between 6 and 12 months.
The anticipated start date: They would ideally like this to be as soon as possible – we reckon this will mean mid-October. There is no problem waiting a short while for the right candidate to become free.
Term of assignment (not set in stone): This would be at least 6 months, probably nearer 12 months.
Hourly rate: please note that the range is very likely to be fairly low, possibly going up for a 4 day week for the right person. This is a long term contract.
A bit more about the role: The role is required to cater for overspill in pretty well all of the department’s work, so they are looking for a flexible resource, willing to roll your sleeves up in a number of areas.
This might include supporting institutional matters (such as students, endowments, charities law, a few contentious matters); Estates matters such as helping with leases; HR matters such as helping with Employment Tribunal claims e.g. witness statements. Depending on the experience of the candidate, they would of course seek to assign specific areas of responsibility. Ideally, they would like a full time resource, but again, for the right candidate (and if necessary for the budget) they can accommodate a 4-day week (see note above).
If this sounds of interest, please let me know. Please note the hourly rate! If possible can you please email any queries or expressions of interest. Many thanks.
