Yes. An umbrella company is a little bit like a payroll company – they are simply handling the payments to the locum solicitor on their behalf. We usually advise locums to steer clear of them. Its an unnecessary administrative layer that everyone is better off without.

Just because a locum uses an umbrella company does not suddenly remove the locum recruitment agency (ie us) from the equation, even if the umbrella company say so! Our fee structure, which we believe is fair and reasonable (we would say that wouldn’t we), still applies.
